Yohei Kawakami To Perform Kamen Rider Saber Opening Theme

The lead singer of [Alexandros] will perform alongside Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra on the opening theme for Kamen Rider Saber.

On September 2, Toei announced that Yohei Kawakami of the band [Alexandros] will collaborate with Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra on the opening theme of Kamen Rider Saber which will be called “ALMIGHTY~Kamen no Yakusoku (The Promise of the Mask) feat. Yohei Kawakami.”

Kawakami was quoted as saying he is both happy and honored to be working on this song with his heroes Kamen Rider and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, and that though it may be difficult for the rest of the band, he will try to wake up early on Sunday mornings to catch the show. The lyrics will be partly in English and were written with the idea of how people’s hopes transcend time and space. Kawakami, who is fluent in English and approved the lyrics, hopes children will be singing the theme loudly.

As was previously announced at the initial press conference for the series, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra will be providing the ending theme for the series, simply titled “Kamen Rider Saber”, making it the first Kamen Rider series to have an ending theme since Kamen Rider Hibiki in 2005 and the first series in the Reiwa Era to have one as well. Another first for the franchise will be the addition of an ending dance to go along with the song, which will be choreographed by TAKAHIRO of the group Exile. TAKAHIRO, who has choreographed for many major acts, states that the cast practiced for a full week to get the dance down, and that the movement should convey the idea that “Kamen Rider is amazing!”

Kamen Rider Saber premieres this Sunday, September 6th, at 8:30, taking over the time slot from the recently concluded Kamen Rider Zero-One. On the same day, TV size versions of the opening and ending themes will be released.
