Tokusatsu Writer Shozo Uehara Passes Away At Age 82
Shozo Uehara, the main writer behind Ultraseven and screenplay writer for Return of Ultraman, has passed away at age 82.
Shozo Uehara, a writer for Tokusatsu who has been in the industry since the late 60’s, has passed away this year at age 82. He passed away on January 2nd due to liver cancer. He is most noted for his work in the Ultra series, being the main writer behind Ultraseven and a writer on Return of Ultraman. Uehara worked on quite a few of the early Super Sentai series as well. He was the main writer for J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai, Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan, and Denshi Sentai Denjiman. Uehara also was on the writing staff for Himitsu Sentai Gorenger and Chouriki Sentai Ohranger.
