Masaki Suda’s Single “Machigai Sagashi” Reaches #1 On The Oricon Charts
The former Kamen Rider W actor has set a personal best record in climbing the Japanese music charts.
This week, Masaki Suda’s single “Machigai Sagashi” (Finding a Mistake) has reached #1 on the Oricon music charts in Japan. The song charted with 99,000 downloads in the first week, which is a record significantly higher than the first week of 4,669 downloads for Suda’s previous work, “Long Hope Philia,” which became the ending theme for My Hero Academia. The single is the theme song for the currently airing drama Perfect World, which stars Tori Matsuzaka (Samurai Sentai Shinkenger) and Koji Seto (Kamen Rider Kiva).
Suda is best known for his debut acting role as Philip in 2009’s Kamen Rider W at the age of 16. After the show’s run, Suda has gone on to a successful music and film career, garnering starring roles in Gintama, Assassination Classroom, and Death Note: Light Up The World. Earlier this year, Suda was cast in the role of Shazam for the Japanese dub of the Warner Bros./ DC movie.
