Production begins for Godzilla vs. Kong as the synopsis is released.
With half a year to go until the release of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla: King of the Monsters, production has begun on the follow up movie, Godzilla vs. Kong. Along with production starting in Australia and Hawaii, the first synopsis for the movie has been released, which reads as follows:
In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.
As previously reported, actors Shun Oguri (Gintama) and Jessica Henwick (Marvel’s Iron Fist) were recently announced as the latest additions to a growing cast that includes Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things, Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Bryan Tyree Henry (Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse), Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3), Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2) and Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood).
Directed by Adam Wingard (Netflix’s Death Note), Godzilla vs. Kong will smash into theaters in 3D and IMAX on May 22, 2020.
