Multiple Tokusatsu Actors Star in Live Action Waiting For Spring Film
The live action adaptation of Waiting For Spring reveals new visuals, showcasing the cast.
On July 24, the official Twitter for the live action adaptation of Waiting For Spring released two visuals for the upcoming film. The film will be based on the manga of the same name written by Anashin. The visuals focus on the protagonist Mizuki Haruno, played by Tao Tsuchiya, and the “four kings” whom she interacts with.
The “four kings” symbolize the four star members of the basketball team in the school in which the main character attends.
Yu Inaba, portraying Rui Miyamoto, is previously remembered by fans as Gou Shijima/Kamen Rider Mach from Kamen Rider Drive. Hayato Isomura, who played Alain/Kamen Rider Necrom in Kamen Rider Ghost, will be portraying Kyosuke Wakamiya in this film. The fourth “king”, named Ryuji Tada, will be portrayed by Yosuke Sugino. Yuta Koseki will play Mizuki’s childhood friend Aya Kamiyama.
The plot of the manga follows the main character Mizuki, a shy girl who is about to enter high school. She vows to open herself up to new friendships. The four stars of the boys’ basketball team take a liking to her and she becomes thrust into the spotlight. Mizuki becomes highly targeted by jealous girls and is unsure how to handle it. The manga began in 2014 and is published in English by Kodansha Comics.
The film is set to release on December 14.
