Toei Announces “Hero Mama League” Web Special

Toei has announced a new web special to be released as a tie-in to Uchu Sentai Kyuranger vs Space Squad.

The special, titled Hero Mama League, will star three previous Sentai actresses (Hurricanger’s Nao Nagasawa, Dekaranger’s Ayumi Kinoshita, and Magiranger’s Ayumi Beppu) returning to their original roles. The characters of Nanami (Hurricane Blue), Jasmine (DekaYellow), and Houka (MagiPink) are now mothers and must balance the struggle of being mothers and protecting the world.

The three who once fought to protect the world are now married and mothers, however, the evil that endangers humanity is immortal. The three work to balance their roles as “glittering mamas” while being heroes when the mysterious Space Shinobi Demost appears.

The special will be released via the Toei Tokusatsu Fanclub and although it is their third drama production, they claim it is “not a spinoff”.

Ayumi Kinoshita proposed the original idea to the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club as a means of showcasing different aspects of a hero’s life. Hideaki Tsukada will produce while Tomomi Shimo will pen the script while Koichiro Hayama will direct.

Hideya Tawada (Kinji/StarNinger in Ninninger) will also appear. Yasuhiro Takado will act as the narrator.

Hero Mama League will be released on May 13th, Mother’s Day in Japan.
