GYAVASO is a Japanese cosplayer from Osaka known for his love of Space Sheriff Gavan and incredible craftsmanship.
What got you interested into cosplay?
It all started when I dressed up as a Kamen Rider to a Halloween party once.
When and how did you discover tokusatsu?
I watched it when it was broadcasted on TV when I was a kid.
Can you walk us through your process of creating a cosplay?
Basically, I create a pattern after creating a design, then I paste it after assembling the pattern expanded polyethylene (EPE). I utilize other materials such as FRP.
If you could cosplay any character, who would it be?
What is your favorite tokusatsu series and why?
Uchuu Keiji Gavan. I am attracted to metallic combat suits.
What’s the funniest experience you’ve had while cosplaying?
I planned a Kabuto only cosplay photo shoot for the Kamen Rider Kabuto 10 year anniversary. Many Masked Riders and Worms gathered and it became such a fun photo shoot.
What advice would you give to yourself when you first started?
Please make many friends and enjoy cosplay, and mold and revise.
