Kamen Rider Drive’s Rio Uchida Stars in Live-Action Shogi Meshi TV Drama Adaptation
Rio Uchida, who portrayed Kiriko Shijima from Kamen Rider Drive, has been cast to play as protagonist Nayuta Touge for upcoming live-action tv drama adaptation for Shogi Meshi on July 31st, 2017, and later on August 2nd, 2017.
Rio Uchida (Kiriko Shijima from Kamen Rider Drive) has been recently cast to star as protagonist Nayuta Touge for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Nagisa Matsumoto’s “gourmet shogi” manga aptly titled Shogi Meshi.
It will be a TV drama that will start broadcasting on Fuji On Demand on July 31, 2017, with a Japanese terrestrial TV broadcast later beginning on August 02, 2017 and contain 8 episodes.
Goro Yasumi (Aruhi Ahiru Bus) is set to helm the adaptation and Yoriko Kodama (Daddy Detective, Birthday Wedding) will write the script(s).
“Shogi Meshi follows the exploits of Nayuta Touge, a professional shogi player who tailors how she plays her matches based on what meals she and her opponents eat. By choosing her meals carefully, Nayuta believes she can become unbeatable.”
