takagi_twinsGekiranger‘s Manpei and Shinpei Takagi recently announced their retirement from the entertainment industry.

On April 30th, twin actors Manpei and Shinpei Takagi announced on their blogs their retirement from the acting industry with the same message.

Dear readers, it’s a nice breath of spring today, how are you all spending it? It’s a bit abrupt, but we have news to share. We are truly thankful for all those fans who have been supporting us for the past 10 years in the acting industry. Last year, we both thought about how we were turning 30 and withdrew from the entertainment industry for a new department. We have deep memories of working in public entertainment, but we intend to push forward to a new horizon. To all the fans who prayed for our good health, we express our gratitude.”

Manpei Takagi is known for his portrayal of Retsu Fukami/GekiBlue of the 2007-2008 Super Sentai series Juken Sentai Gekiranger. Shinpei Takagi guest starred in the 38th episode of Gekiranger, “Lesson 38: Biba-Biba! Another Retsu”, as Retsu’s mirror doppelganger.

Shinpei also appeared in two episodes of parody series, Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger,  as Takuma Tsuzuki, Hiroyo Hakase’s younger brother and temporarily AkibaRed.

Last year, the twins appeared in the movie Showa Saikyo Koko Den Kokushi Sanjo!!.
