Glitter Force to Premiere on Netflix in December

Netflix confirms air date for Smile! PreCure‘s English dub, Glitter Force.

Smile PreCure!, the 2012 entry in Toei’s Pretty Cure magical girl anime franchise, has been confirmed by Netflix to be available for streaming beginning December 18th in all territories except for Asia under the title Glitter Force. The show was previously confirmed for a 40 episode run, despite Smile PreCure! being a 48 episode series.

Variety describes the series as:

20-episode run from Saban Brands is set in the magical kingdom of Jubiland, which is invaded by an evil emperor and his band of fairy tale villains. A tiny pixie named Candy recruits five preteen girls to form the powerful Glitter Force to help defend Earth from becoming the next target.

The first 20 episodes will be available for viewing on December 18th the the second half expected to air at a later date. No word has been released on the remaining 8 episodes of the series.
