Gamera Celebrating 50th Anniversary at NYCC

The popular kaiju franchise will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special presentation on the NYCC Live Stage.

Gamera was first released in 1965 by Daiei Film, and the titular kaiju has since become a popular icon in Japan and around the world. The giant flying turtle has starred in a total of 12 films, the last of which was Gamera the Brave in 2006.

On Thursday, October 8th, Kadokawa Pictures will announce a new pilot movie to New York Comic Con to celebrate the occasion. Out of town fans can watch the event on NYCC’s Livestream from 1:00pm to 1:30pm.
