2nd Garo Anime: Crimson Moon Announced

The Garo Project website has officially revealed the second anime season based on the Garo tokusatsu franchise.

A 15 second trailer was posted earlier today, showcasing the latest Garo anime, coming after Garo: The Carved Seal of Flames, otherwise known as GARO: THE ANIMATION.  Garo – Guren no Tsuki – / Garo – The Crimson Moon – will take place in the Heian period of classical Japan, which took place from 794 to 1185. The series is said to be a jidaigeki (period drama) and will feature a female protagonist for the first time in the Garo franchise.

The slogan on the website reads “Darkness dwells in [the] Heian period”.

Keita Amemiya is credited as creator while Masakazu Katsura (TIGER & BUNNY) will be in charge of character design. Animation will be done again by MAPPA and Tohoku Shinsha.
