Kenichi Takito Cast in Heisei Generations FOREVER as Fuutaros
Kenichi Takito has been cast as the voice of the Imagin Fuutaros in the upcoming Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER film.
Takito has appeared in various films throughout his career, including Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. as well as the second and third Rurouni Kenshin films. In Heisei Generations FOREVER, Takito voices Fuutaros, a new movie-exclusive Imagin character. The Imagin were the primary enemies in 2007’s Kamen Rider Den-O.
Takito is noted for his eccentric performances and is said to bring “color” to his roles. His portrayals won him the 68th Japan Broadcast Film and Art Excellence Presentation’s award for best supporting actor.
The actor says it has been a wish of his to appear in the Kamen Rider series for a long time.
Commenting on his casting, Takito mentions being excited to appear in Kamen Rider after acting for 22 years. Takito recalls seeing a Kamen Rider Ghost stage show with his family. He noted children in the audience were terrified of the monsters who appeared from audience seats. As a result, many of the children wet themselves.
Takito also recalled that dubbing the fight scenes was difficult, resulting in him conferring with the suit actor.
The upcoming Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER will feature cast members from Kamen Rider Build and Kamen Rider Zi-O, as well as various Kamen Riders from past shows. Zi-O, the current Kamen Rider series, is celebrating the end of the Heisei era. Toei previously announced Fuutaros with “Another Den-O” and “Another W”, where several questions about the Imagin’s alliances were asked.

Over in the non-toku sphere, he recently played Detective Reimon, one half of the pair that makes up the Inspector Lestrade-type in the show Miss Sherlock currently on HBO Go. Excellent show, and he did a great job with his role in it; highly recommended.
