Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.11
Bandai’s candy toy blog posted a new entry for Kamen Rider Zi-O, revealing the final additions to SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O’s third wave, and more information on what they’re doing for Kamen Rider W.
The man in charge of candy toy development goes by D, and in honor of Zi-O, he has changed his usual nickname to Di-O.
With this post, RIDE 2 of SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O has been released. It includes GhostArmor, DriveArmor, Ex-AidArmor, and FaizArmor, with Armor Changing bodies of Zi-O and Geiz.
Also, Premium Bandai has started pre-orders for a commemorative cake celebrating 20 years of Heisei Kamen Rider. Included is a plate with the 20 Kamen Rider Kicks logo.
“ArmorTime: Level Up! Genm!”
Another addition to RIDE 3 of SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: GenmArmor.
This form, based on the popular Rider from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, was used by Geiz in the latest episode of Kamen Rider Zi-O. Due to the fact that Genm is a recolor of Ex-Aid, it largely borrows from Ex-AidArmor, minus the Gashacon Breaker arm weapons.
In the last blog entry, they revealed that RIDE 3 would include an Inserted RideWatch Version of Zi-O’s Zikan Girade in its sword mode – this time, they have done the same for Geiz’s Zikan Zax in its bow mode. It will be included with GenmArmor.
“ArmorTime: Sword Form! Den-O!”
Finishing off RIDE 3 is Den-OArmor.
Much like the previously revealed RyukiArmor, this is a form only seen on the toy packaging. Den-OArmor features the Den-Liner train on the shoulders – Di-O feels that it looks best when paired with a sword.
Finally, they have also made an Inserted RideWatch Version of Zi-O’s Zikan Girade in its gun mode. This will be included with Den-OArmor.
With that, we have the full contents of RIDE 3:
- FourzeArmor A Set (For Zi-O)
- FourzeArmor B Set (For Zi-O)
- Kamen Rider Zi-O (Action Body Set)
- RyukiArmor Set (For Zi-O)
- Den-OArmor Set (For Zi-O)
- Armor Changing Kamen Rider Zi-O (Action Body Set)
- GenmArmor Set (For Geiz)
- Armor Changing Kamen Rider Geiz (Action Body Set)
The set will be out on December 3rd. Those looking to display every armor will probably want to consider a spare Zi-O body – and with RIDE 2 out, a spare Geiz body or two is worth keeping around for those armors.
Di-O also acknowledges that they haven’t forgotten about Geiz’s WizardArmor – it seems that it may not see release until RIDE 5, but it’s definitely a thing they’re working on.
The blog then shifts focus to SO-DO Chronicle with SO-DO Kamen Rider W. These were the subject of the last blog entry.
To recap, 2019 will see the start of a new SO-DO line called SO-DO Chronicle, which will be offering up modern candy toy figures for series prior to Ex-Aid, which was the start of SO-DO. The first reveals for W were for a retail set. The following are for a Premium Bandai set.
The set includes Double’s HeatMetal and LunaTrigger forms. Variants of their weapons also exist for alternate display options.
When talking about the SO-DO line, they quote the Nazca Dopant: “I’ve been thinking, ever since I first saw you… I just want to split you in half!”
They show off the possibilities with this SO-DO line by revealing that each of Double’s main forms can split in half, giving you a total of 9 combinations. They also clarify that, due to this, the usual hip joint was not doable, and the neck is just one color since it has to be a part of one half of the body.
Finally, they reveal Double’s final form, CycloneJokerXtreme. This comes with the weapons he is known for.
In summary, the retail set includes CycloneJoker, FangJoker, and Kamen Rider Joker. Each half of them is two slots in the wave, meaning it’s a wave of 6 items. These will be available in February.
However, the contents of this reveal (HeatMetal, LunaTrigger and CycloneJokerXtreme) are a Premium Bandai set with a fun title themed after the episodes: “The Impact of W / Now, a New Way to Shine” – pre-orders start at the beginning of November.
“Next update will be on Sunday, November 4th! Look forward to it!”
