The actress portrayed Amy/KyoryuPink in the 2013 Super Sentai series, Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.
Ayuri Konno announced today via her blog that she is retiring from the entertainment world and will no longer be an actress. Konno cites a newfound passion in an unrelated field as her primary motivation for retiring.
Konno made the announcement via her official blog with the following message:
I have important news to report.
I apologize for being late with the news.
I would like to announce that I am retiring from the entertainment industry.
I think the abrupt nature of the news will inconvenience fans and I am sorry for that.
I’ve been working bit by bit since I was a 15 year old junior high school student and have worked hard ever since I was cast in my first drama as the pink member of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.
Thanks to this, my youth was wonderful.
Ever since I was small I’ve wanted to do something that made people happy and give them hope and this is why I entered the entertainment industry.
I don’t know if that dream of mine came true, but intend to move on with my utmost effort for my own sake.
I have found something I really want to do and that is the reason I am retiring from the entertainment industry.
Now I ask that you please let me do what I want as I try my best in a very special environment.
It came as a surprise to my agency and took some time to negotiate.
My motivation has been acknowledged through the hard work in my current field.
I apologize to all of my fans and everyone at the agency, I am sorry for being so selfish.
Thank you for your support and for having supported me, I am truly thankful.
I would be pleased if you could all kindly watch over me in my new life.
I also think I will probably close this blog after some time.
