Gokaiger’s Tohru Furuya to Appear at Anime NYC

Famous voice actor Tohru Furuya will come to America this year as a guest for Anime NYC.


On June 21st, Anime NYC announced that they will be welcoming veteran voice actor, Tohru Furuya, in his first New York City appearance. He is best known as the voice of AkaRed in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger (Pirate Sentai Gokaiger)but has appeared in other tokusatsu works over the years. He initially voiced AkaRed in the GoGo Sentai Boukenger vs. Super Sentai movie, stepping in as the voice for MagiRed and GaoRed as well. He also appeared in the second season of Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger (Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger) as Prism Ace.

In the mainstream, Furuya is most notable as the voice of Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon, Yamcha in Dragon Ball, and Amuro Ray in Mobile Suit Gundam.

The event will be held in New York City from November 16-18th, 2018–Furuya will appear on Friday and Saturday of the event. He will participate in events and autograph signings, though no schedule has been released yet.
