O’Shea Jackson Jr. in Talks for Godzilla: King of the Monsters
The Straight Outta Compton star is eyeing a role in the newest Godzilla film.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the next entry in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, is currently filling out its cast. The film centers on a family played by Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, and Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown. The latest addition may be rising star O’Shea Jackson Jr, who according to Variety is in negotiations to star in the film.
Jackson first made waves by portraying his father Ice Cube in the critically acclaimed Straight Outta Compton. If he lands the role, Jackson would be the third Straight Outta Compton star to feature in the MonsterVerse, after Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell’s appearances in Kong: Skull Island.
Michael Dougherty is directing Godzilla: King of the Monsters from a script he wrote with Krampus partner Zach Shields. The film hits theaters on March 22, 2019, and the MonsterVerse finale Godzilla vs. Kong will follow on May 29, 2020.
