Shotaro Ishinomori’s Kamen Rider #3 To Appear In New Super Hero Taisen Film
Cinema Today reports the appearance of Kamen Rider #3 in the upcoming Super Hero Taisen movie.
In the October 1st, 1972 issue of Bessetsu Tanoshii Youchien, there was a story called “Rider #3 VS Black Shogun” written by Shotaro Ishinomori. This third Rider (pictured above) is different from V3, and will make an appearance after 40 years in the upcoming Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider #3 that will premiere March 21, 2015.
Like Riders 1 and 2, Kamen Rider #3 was modified by Shocker. He also drives around with his beloved car, the TriCyclone. The story will be about the latest Rider, Kamen Rider Drive, meeting with Rider #3. Kamen Rider V3 will also play a part in this. This will be a story not only for Kamen Rider fans, this is valuable history within Japanese heroes.
Kamen Rider V3 aired in April, 1973, another third Rider existed four months before that and Toei’s producer Shinichiro Shirakura wanted to bring him back saying, “Will Drive and #3 be enemies? Or will they be allies? This third Rider in Kamen Rider history is virtually unknown to fans, and the movie will revolve around the mystery behind his existence.”
The movie will be directed by Takayuki Shibasaki who directed the newly-premiered Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Drive & Gaim: Movie War Full Throttle. According to Igadevil, a teaser trailer for Super Hero Taisen GP ran before the Full Throttle movie in theaters which showed a glimpse of the TriCyclone with the Tachibana Racing Club logo along with the quote “The strongest, greatest Rider in existence is about to be revealed”.
