Garo Anime Title Announced

The upcoming Garo anime project was first announced back in November at the Garo Thanksgiving event. The anime now has an official title, as Garo: The Carved Seal of Flames (Honoo no Kokuin)

It will be a new original story, and as the title suggest, the Garo suit will be covered in flames. The anime will focus a lot on the visuals that wouldn’t be possible in the live action shows.

The anime will be written by the veteran Tokusatsu writer, Yasuko Kobayashi (Zero: Black Blood, Attack on Titan), joined by the new director Yūichirō Hayashi. Yūichirō was previously in charge of the storyboard of 009 RE:CYBORG movie. The anime studio Mappa (Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis, Hajime no Ippo Rising) will be in charge of the animation.

It’s currently estimated to air this fall.
