New Visuals for Kamen Rider Black Sun Revealed
New visuals for the Kamen Rider Black Sun project have been revealed, and the movie will premiere in the fall of 2022.
Several new character visuals for the Kamen Rider Black Sun project have been revealed via the Kamen Rider Black Sun website. These new visuals give us our first full look at the modern reimagining of titular character, Kamen Rider Black / Kotaro Minami (portrayed by Hidetoshi Nishijima).
We have also been given our first look at the reimagined Kamen Rider Shadowmoon / Nobuhiko Akizuki, (portrayed by Tomoya Nakamura).
Another visual released for the project showcases Kamen Rider Black and Kamen Rider Shadowmoon side by side.
The final visual released for the production gives us another look at Kamen Rider Black’s Battle Hopper motorcycle (designed by Cherry’s Company in Japan), as well as our first look at Kamen Rider Shadowmoon’s motorcycle.
Kamen Rider Black Sun is a modern reimagining of the 1986 Kamen Rider series, Kamen Rider Black. The project is directed by Kazuya Shiraishi (The Blood of Wolves, The Devil’s Path). Regarding the conclusion of the production’s filming, he says:
“I’m burnt out. I’m just pure white ashes now. I have nothing but thanks to the filming staff and cast for giving their all. My heartfelt gratitude goes to them now for making a truly interesting production that I want everyone to see soon. Filming has concluded, but now we’re moving on to the finishing touches. With a fresh mind, I will put all my power in making this the best it can be. Everyone, please look forward to this!”
Izumi Takahashi serves as the scriptwriter for the project. Kiyotaka Taguchi (director of Ultraman Z) as the special effects director, and Shinji Higuchi (director of Shin Godzilla and the upcoming Shin Ultraman film) as the visual concept designer for the project. Kamen Rider BLACK SUN is currently set to premiere in the fall of 2022.
