International airings of Power Rangers Dino Fury‘s most recent episode have introduced the first LGBTQ+ Ranger in television history. The new episode revealed Izzy, the Green Dino Fury Ranger, as the first LGBTQ+ Ranger. This new episode will be avaliable for American viewers later this month.
Izzy’s actress, Tessa Rao, confirmed the reveal in an Instagram post.
Power Rangers Dino Fury executive producer Simon Bennett has commented on the positive response from fans.
Very happy with the reaction to Power Rangers #dinofury episode 13, which has just aired in France. Really looking forward to when it is available in the US, and I can jump into discussions.

In response to concerns of the episode’s scene depicting Izzy in a same-sex relationship being a marketing ploy, he replied, “I assure you, it was no marketing ploy. And yes, well overdue.”
As the first LGBTQ+ Ranger in a television series, Izzy joins previously established LGBTQ+ Rangers from other media. These include Ellarien and Remi from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic, and Trini from the 2017 Power Rangers movie.
