Ultraman Trigger Comes to Japanese Blu-ray This December
Tsuburaya Productions’ Ultraman Trigger will be released on Blu-ray in Japan across two volumes from December 24, 2021, and March 29, 2022.
After beginning to air earlier this month, Ultraman Trigger has been announced to receive a Blu-ray release. Evoking the design of Ultraman Tiga‘s LaserDisc packaging, volume 1 of Ultraman Trigger is slated to release in Japan on December 24. Subsequently, volume 2 will be released on March 29, 2022.
Volume 1 of Ultraman Trigger Blu-ray box features episodes 1-13 of the show along with a variety of bonus features. This includes a 24-person crew commentary, and a bonus features disc including crew interviews, a creditless opening and ending, along with numerous other video features. Meanwhile, volume 2 will feature episodes 14-25 of Ultraman Trigger, another 24-person commentary, an image/video gallery, and a bonus disc with a “Making of” video, creditless versions of the later opening/ending, and a special recap video.
Additionally, consumers that have purchased both volumes of Ultraman Trigger from the same retailer will be provided with a storage sleeve shipped with volume 2. This sleeve features an illustration by Masayuki Goto, the designer of Ultraman Trigger, and numerous other Ultra Series characters.
Finally, various store exclusive bonuses may be included depending on the retailers. The Tsuburaya Store will select 5 customers that purchased both volumes to receive their copies with a signature from Raiga Terasaka (who plays Kengo Manaka). The Premium Bandai and A-On Store offer an art panel featuring LaserDisc style art. Rakuten books offer clear cards for each volume featuring the 3 dark giants and Ultraman Trigger, Amazon Japan offers a storage box featuring art of Trigger’s various forms, and Yodabashi includes a set of acrylic keychains.
Volumes 1 and 2 of the Ultraman Trigger Blu-ray Box are retailing at a price of 25,300 yen (tax included) each and are currently up for pre-order from the various retailers listed above.
