Shin Takuma Cast in Ultraman Trigger

Tsuburaya has released new casting information for Ultraman Trigger, along with information about an upcoming livestream event.

Tsuburaya has released the news that Shin Takuma will play Mitsukuni Shizuma, the president of the Sizuma Foundation and creator of GUTS-Select, in the upcoming series Ultraman Trigger. New information has also been provided about a livestream event on which all eight main cast members will appear.

Livestream Event

Next Thursday, June 10 at 5PM(JST), all eight main cast members, and main director Koichi Sakamoto, will take part in a livestream event, set inside the GUTS-Select anti-monster battleship, the Nursedessei. This event will only be streamed in Japan, but a report will be posted on the Tsuburaya website after it concludes.

Mitsukuni Shizuma

Mitsukuni Shizuma is the founder and president of global mega-conglomerate, the Sizuma Foundation. He is the leader behind the creation of the Terrestrial Peaceable Union and GUTS-Select. He is also the father of Yuna Shizuma.

Since his acting debut in 1979, Takuma has appeared in various films and TV series, including The Return of Godzilla and Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. In recent years, he has been highly acclaimed for his performance in the TV drama series The Hero Yoshihiko.

I remember 55 years ago, as a 10-year-old boy, watching Ultraman on TV for the first time and being so excited. And now 55 years later, here I am at age 65, thrilled beyond belief to take on a role in Ultraman. The nostalgia mixed with the realization that I’ve reached this age combined to make this acting experience so much fun. Working on set with the younger members of the team, I just knew that Ultraman Trigger was going to be an amazing Ultraman series. I hope everyone enjoys the show every week.
