Kamen Rider Zero One Actor Daichi Yamaguchi To Appear in Japan’s 24
Daichi Yamaguchi joins the cast of Japan’s remake of the popular 24 drama series.
On November 7, it was announced that Daichi Yamaguchi was cast in the retooled Japanese version of 24. The American series initially started in 2001 but has recently received a Japanese remake that will premiere on November 15.
Daichi Yamaguchi is remembered most recently by tokusatsu fans as the Humagear Raiden in Kamen Rider Zero-One. He also starred in the Rider Time: Ryuki special as Kimura. Yamaguchi will play Ichiki Sanji, a member in a group of kidnappers, and will be featured in episode 6. He will be in the gang alongside the character Go Samejima, played by Atsuhiro Inukai (Kamen Rider Build). The reimagining of the long-running US television drama has already boasted a cast full of other tokusatsu actors.
When discussing the role, Yamaguchi stated “It’s not exaggerating to say that 24 triggered the popularity of dramas from overseas, and attracted plenty of worldwide attention. When I heard I could participate in the modern, Japanese version, I was thrilled.”
The remake of 24 is expected to run for 24 episodes and season 1 is set to revolve around the election of Japan’s first Prime Minister.
