KiramaRed Actor Rio Komiya Tests Positive for COVID-19
Toei releases news on the 17 year old actor and how it will affect the filming of Mashin Sentai Kirameiger
At a press conference held today by TV-Asahi, Toei Productions has confirmed that actor Rio Komiya, who plays the role of Juuru Atsuta/ KiramaRed on the currently airing Mashin Sentai Kirameiger has tested positive for COVID-19, or as it is more commonly referred to, the coronavirus. Komiya stated that he had been feeling sick and stopped shooting last weekend. The company confirms that production on Mashin Sentai Kirameiger has been halted, but that the show has filmed enough material to air through mid-May and are hopeful that this development will not affect the airing of the show.
This news comes amid a large spike in the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Japan and just days after the decision was made to move the Olympic Games that were to take place in Tokyo this July to 2021. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that Japan is now on the verge of a larger spike in cases as it becomes increasingly difficult to trace the virus and keep its spread under control. The prime minister went on to warn that citizens should “be prepared for a long battle.”
Mashin Sentai Kirameiger airs Sunday mornings as part of TV Asahi’s Super Hero Time line-up.

1 thing: Coronavirus or 2019-nCoV or SARS-COV-II (sometimes SARS-COV-2) is the virus; COVID-19 is the disease (COVID-19 stands for COronaVIrus Disease 2019).
He was tested positive for the virus, and is with COVID-19. You can’t ‘test positive for COVID-19’. Just a technicality, but I always think it’s good to point out.
(it’s the same thing with AIDS and HIV, one is the desease, the other is the virus)
