Various Kamen Rider Alum Star In Durarara Stage Play

The mysteries of Ikebukuro come to life in the Durarara!! stage play with the help of some tokusatsu stars. 

The 2010 hit anime Durarara!! is getting a stage play in April 2020, and the cast boasts some familiar Kamen Rider faces.

Following the story of the new kid in Ikebukuro, Mikado Ryuugamine, Durarara!! features a colorful cast of varying personalities and showcases the craziness that can ensue in one city. The series began as a light novel debuting in 2004 and was later adapted into an anime in 2010. A second season Durarara!!x2 aired in 2015.

The character Celty Sturlson, a mysterious biker with a cat-eared helmet, is played by two actresses. Both of the actresses have backgrounds in Kamen Rider. Natsumi Sano, the suit actress for Celty, is a stuntwoman known for suit acting Kamen Rider Tsukuyomi from Kamen Rider Zi-O, as well as various other in-suit roles. Providing Celty Sturlson’s voice is Miyuki Sawashiro, who is remembered by fans as the voice of Kiva-la in Kamen Rider Decade. 

Fans can also recognize Kyouhei Kadota’s actor, Yuki Kimisawa, as Kirihiko Sonozaki/Nazca Dopant from Kamen Rider W. 

The play will perform from April 10 – 18, 2020 at the Nippon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo, then April 24 – 26, 2020 at the Tokoname City Community Hall in Aichi, and closing out in Osaka from May 1 – 6, 2020 at the COOL JAPAN PARK OSAKA WW Hall.
