Kamen Rider W’s Koji Kikkawa To Appear In Big Comic Spirits
Kamen Rider Skull’s actor will interviewed in collaboration with the ongoing Futo Detectives manga arc that covers the events of Begins Night.
In the upcoming issue of Big Comic Spirits No. 30, actor and singer Koji Kikkawa will be interviewed just in time for the release of Volume 6 of the ongoing Kamen Rider W spin-off manga, Kamen Rider W: Futo Detectives, which comes out June 28.
As revealed back in February, the manga has begun covering the events of Begins Night, which set the stage for the main story of 2009’s Kamen Rider W and introduced fans to Sokichi Narumi, played by Kikkawa. Although Sokichi is never seen directly in the series, he appears in flashbacks and movies as Shotaro’s boss and mentor at the Narumi Detective Agency, as well as the stylish and hard-boiled Kamen Rider Skull. The interview will be published on June 24 and will focus on Kikkawa’s memories of the role after almost a decade.
In addition to playing a Kamen Rider, Kikkawa has contributed songs to the franchise on multiple occasions. He previously provided the song “ONE WORLD” for 2006’s Kamen Rider Kabuto: God Speed Love. After being cast in Kamen Rider W, he provided the theme for Kamen Rider Skull, a ballad entitled “Nobody’s Perfect”, as well as a duet with Maki Ohguro entitled “HEART∞BREAKER” which was the theme for Move War Core. He later went on to star in 2012’s Rurouni Kenshin alongside Kamen Rider Den-O‘s Takeru Satoh.
