Extra Cast Revealed for Kamen Rider Zi-O Movie
Toei has recently announced two new cast members for the Kamen Rider summer movie, Kamen Rider Zi-O: Over Quartzer.
Tomoya Maeno will portray warlord Oda Nobunaga in the movie, while Jiei Wakabayashi will portray Nobunaga’s ninja vassal, Gyusan. Both are veteran actors of many TV dramas and movies, however this will be their debut in the Kamen Rider series.
Speaking on his role, Maeno stated, “No way?! I will play the role of Nobunaga Oda! I am glad I was able to participate in the scene with Sougo, Geiz, Woz and Tsukuyomi that was overflowing with Kamen Rider love. I watched Kamen Rider BLACK RX as a child, and started watching Kamen Rider Hibiki when I was a university student. However, I watched Kamen Rider Zi-O with my family. I also have my own Hibiki and Double Ride Watch! In this story, people from various times across past, present and future cross paths and create a new history. With the memories of the Kamen Rider that each character has, I hope you will see the creation of Sougo’s future!”
Wakabayashi stated, “I’ve never been involved in a Kamen Rider project, so I am very happy to be able to participate this time. Before I read the script, I had a faint hope that I might be transform into a Kamen Rider, but I saw the script and realized that I would not be able to. I still remember that the passion of the Kamen Rider staff on the first day. Speaking of Kamen Rider Faiz, when I was played with my friends when I was a child, I couldn’t pronounce Faiz properly so I always pronounced it, Paiz! Kamen Rider Zi-O is a compilation of the Heisei Kamen Rider, and my character has quite a large part. Please look forward to it!”
Kamen Rider Zi-O: Over Quartzer will release alongside Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger: Timeslip! Dinosaur Panic!! in the traditional double feature summer movie format with merchandise promotion. It will premiere in most Japanese theaters on June 14.
