Takeru Satoh Cast As Lead In Dragon Quest: Your Story Animated Movie

The star of Kamen Rider Den-O will provide his voice in the 3D CG animated movie based off the long running game series.

Earlier this week, gaming fans were given a first look at the new 3D CG animated movie Dragon Quest: Your Story based on the popular Square Enix title, which you can check out below. The film stars Takeru Satoh as Ryuka, the protagonist, Kasumi Arimura (ERASED) as Bianca, and Haru as Flora (Nera in North America), Other cast members include:

• Kentaro Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy XIV: Daddy of Light)
• Takayuki Yamada (The Hero Yoshihiko)
• Ken Yasuda (Blue Blazes)
• Kendo Kobayashi (GANTZ:O)
• Arata Furuta (20th Century Boys live action movie)
• Suzuki Matsuo (Cutie Honey live action movie)
• Koichi Yamadera (Cowboy Bebop)
• Kotaro Yoshida (Final Fantasy XIV: Daddy of Light)

Since 1986, Dragon Quest has been a staple of the JRPG scene, selling over 76 million copies of its games worldwide, with the most recent installment, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, set to come out on the Nintendo Switch later this summer. The film’s story and design is based on the fifth installment in the franchise, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.

Fans of tokusatsu know Satoh best as the main character Ryotaro Nogami in 2007’s Kamen Rider Den-O. He has since gone on to become a successful actor, appearing in several live action movies such as BECK, Rurouni Kenshin, and Inuyashiki to name a few. Satoh recently made a surprise return to the franchise in 2018 with Kamen Rider Zi-O‘s winter movie, Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER.

Dragon Quest: Your Story is set to hit theaters in Japan on August 2nd, 2019.
