Otome Mobile Game “Liar! Uncover the Truth” Adaption Features Kamen Rider Alumni Cast
Several Kamen Rider actors are taking their shot at love by starring in an upcoming otome game adaptation for Liar! Uncover the Truth.
In August 2018, it was announced that one of Voltage Inc.’s mobile otome games is being recreated into a live action adaptation. The game being adapted is Liar! Uncover the Truth, which has been downloaded by over 3.5 million players. Other popular otome games by the company include 10 Days with My Devil and In Your Arms Tonight.
The story of the game involves the main character leaving her cheating boyfriend but is given an ultimatum by her mother that she must find another boyfriend within a month, or else her mother will force her to come home and meet a man of mother’s choosing. The main character attends a match making party and is told by a fortune teller that 10 men will appear in her life, 9 being liars and 1 being true. The goal of the game is to figure out who is the honest man before the time is up. The main character will be played by Akane Hotta in her first starring role in film.
Within these 10 suitors, some will stand out as tokusatsu alumni that fans might recognize. Shun Nishime, known for playing Kamen Rider Ghost, will be playing Azusa Kurono. Tetsuya Makita, known for playing Kamen Rider Gatack in Kamen Rider Decade, will play Joe Yazawa. Tom Fujita, who played Kamen Rider Omega in Kamen Rider Amazons, will be playing Shuto Masaki. Yu Inaba, who played Kamen Rider Mach in Kamen Rider Drive, will play Itaru Yuikawa. Lastly, Tetsuya Iwanaga, known as Kamen Rider Genm in Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, will portray Haruichi Mamiya.
Other notable cast includes Yuki Kubota, Kamen Rider Zangetsu in Kamen Rider Gaim, Atomu Mizuishi, who recently appeared as Another Fourze in Kamen Rider Zi-O, and Takashi Nagayama, who has had small appearances in Kamen Rider Ryuki and Kamen Rider Build. He is most known for his portrayal as Toshiro Hitsugaya in Rock Musical Bleach.
Tetsuya Iwanaga made a statement on making the film, saying he enjoys psychological warfare and found shooting the film very fun.
There is currently no release date for the film, but it is slated for a Fall 2019 release.
