Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.5
Bandai’s candy toy blog posted a new entry for Kamen Rider Zi-O, continuing coverage on the second wave of SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O.
The man in charge of candy toy development goes by D, and in honor of Zi-O, he has changed his usual nickname to Di-O.
Di-O opens by commenting on episode 3, which he refers to as the “Ex-Aid Edition” of Zi-O, and remarks how it’s already been two years since Kamen Rider Ex-Aid debuted.
“ArmorTime: Drive! Drive~!”
“I’ll be taking you for a ride!”
The blog focuses on the reveal of DriveArmor which will be part of SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O RIDE2. While not directly tied to the teaser from the last blog entry, it is a form used by Kamen Rider Geiz in episode 3.
The design is described as having “An overwhelming sense of magnitude!!” to it, with tires placed on both shoulders. He goes so far as to say this Shift Car-armed figure is a masterpiece.
The way they managed to make the Shift Car armaments was to make them part of a set of hands that are used in place of the other hands. From a design standpoint, the RideWatch Holders on Zi-O and Geiz’s forearms are still visible in DriveArmor, so it made sense to do this without affecting the look of their forearms. In short, this means that you would have to remove the Shift Cars if you wish to display the figure with alternate hands.
Like previous Rider Armor reveals, a display stand is included with a sticker of the form name and Drive’s emblem. Unfortunately, unlike the previously revealed BuildArmor and GhostArmor, it doesn’t look like there will be an alternate helmet piece for Zi-O – this is specifically called out as a “Geiz-exclusive form”.
Included with DriveArmor is the Zikan Girade in its Gun Mode. The Sword Mode was previously revealed as part of the first wave.
“The next update will be Sunday, September 23rd! Next week, the first wave of SG RideWatch will be released! Other candy toys will also be reviewed so please look forward to it!!
