Shin Godzilla to Hit UK Cinemas on August 2017

The 2016 kaiju film to open in cinemas in the United Kingdom this coming August.

Manga Entertainment, a predominately UK-based producer, licensee, and distributor of anime, announced on its official Twitter account that the 2016 kaiju film Shin Godzilla (also known as Godzilla: Resurgence) will be reaching the UK cinemas on August 10th, 2017.

Shin Godzilla is the 29th entry in the Godzilla film franchise produced by Toho and the 31st entry to the franchise overall. Shin Godzilla serves as its 3rd reboot. Previously, Shin Godzilla was released in Japan on July 19th, 2016 (as Godzilla: Resurgence), and released in the United States and Canada in October 2016 with limited dates through Funimation Films.

Shin Godzilla was helmed by both Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (Gamera trilogy), with Anno also writing the screenplay for the film and Higuchi also doing the film’s special effects.
