Fumika Shimizu Restarts Career With New Name and New Agency
Kamen Rider Fourze’s Fumika Shimizu announces her return to the entertainment industry with a new name and new agency representing her.
This week, the Happy Science organization announced Shimizu’s return to acting with a new name, Yoshiko Sengen, and under a new talent agency, ARI Productions Co. The talent agency formed last November with plans for Sengen to appear in six movies produced by the company.
Earlier this year, Sengen retired from acting to join the controversial religious organization, Happy Science. Under her real name, she was known for portraying Yuki Jojima in Kamen Rider Fourze and Aiko Himeno in HK!!! Hentai Kamen. The last appearance with her real name will be the Tokyo Ghoul movie, which releases on July 29, 2017.

She didn’t retire to join Happy Science, she was already a part of the organization and was taking a short hiatus after ditching her old agency. She claimed that her old agency was overworking her and she didn’t like working on projects that didn’t align with her moral/spiritual beliefs like the upcoming Tokyo Ghoul movie.
I don’t usually keep track of what happens to toku actors and actresses, but there’s been a lot of confusion about the situation. In case anyone hadn’t heard the information elsewhere, I wanted to say something. So long as she’s happy and healthy with her current situation and Happy Science isn’t mistreating her & her fellow believers, I’m glad. Hearing about them pushing her so hard schedule-wise on Fourze broke my heart. 🙁
