Me-TV Airing Godzilla Every Saturday Night in February
American classics television station, Me-TV, will be airing a Godzilla movie every Saturday night during the month of February.
Me-TV is a station known for airing classic television shows and movies, and it’s trying to make this month a “Fantastic February” by airing Godzilla movies on Saturday nights as part of its hosted show, Svengoolie.
To kick off the month-long event, Godzilla, King of the Monsters (1956) will be featured on Saturday night, February 4, 2017.
Svengoolie, named for the show’s host character, is a weekly feature on Me-TV in which an old or low-budget science fiction or horror movie is shown. Between commercial breaks, Svengoolie (played by Rich Koz) makes jokes and performs short sketches or songs that parody the movie being shown. Each Godzilla movie being shown is expected to be no exception. The show’s history can also be traced back to the 1960’s when it was called Screaming Yellow Theater with Host Svengoolie.
Speaking of Godzilla, the sequel to 2014’s reboot, Godzilla: King of Monsters, is planned for release on March 22, 2019. Millie Bobby Brown has been cast in a starring role, and the film is planned to lead into a crossover with King Kong the following year. It looks like Godzilla’s getting a lot of love, lately.
