Kamen Rider Ranks 2nd Highest Selling Toys In Japan
Marketing agency GfK announced their line up of best selling toys in Japan, with Kamen Rider capturing second place.
The Kamen Rider series, which primarily includes sales figures from 2016’s Kamen Rider Ghost, fell short of Soreike! Anpanman for first place. Anpanman saw a growth of 11% over 2015’s sales figures, proving to be a series with immense staying power and popularity with kids. In third place was the newest Beyblade series, Beyblade Burst.
Overall, the Japanese toy industry saw a 7% growth between all demographics. With a 13% rise, girls based toys witnessed the biggest growth, with boys series only seeing a small 4% growth. The report noted that sales of boys demographic merchandise was down within the first half of 2016, but saw a rise in the second half to overall surpass that of 2015’s sales reports.
