Hideaki Anno to Hold Tokusatsu History Panel
Shin Godzilla and Neon Genesis Evangelion director, Hideaki Anno, will hold a panel covering the history of tokusatsu.
The anime director who has a strong interest in tokusatsu, particular the Ultraman series, will hold a special panel at the Shinjuku Wald 9 Theater in Shinjuku, Tokyo at 7:00 PM JST on March 17, 2017.
The panel is titled “Hideaki Anno’s Special Private Collection TV Tokusatsu Hero (Theme Song, etc) Historical Gathering” and will cover the opening and ending themes of around 50 works of tokusatsu. The event is somewhat of a sequel to a 2014 event called “Hideaki Anno’s Showa TV Manga Theme History Collection”. The works covered will span from the 60’s to the 2010’s. Anno will also be joined on the the discussion panel by anime scholar and tokusatsu expert, Ryuusuke Hikawa.
Tickets go on sale March 3rd and will cost 2500 yen (around $22).
