Godzilla: King of Monsters Obtains Michael Dougherty as Director
Krampus director Michael Dougherty tapped to direct Godzilla: King of Monsters.
Michael Dougherty, writer and director of both Trick r’ Treat and Krampus, has been reported to direct Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla: King of Monsters film. Both Dougherty and Zach Shields, who previously co-wrote Krampus, are set to write the sequel to 2014’s Godzilla. They are also tasked with building a bridge between it and Legendary’s other kaiju property, March 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, in anticipation of Godzilla vs. Kong. Furthermore, Alex Garcia will be overseeing this film project for Legendary Pictures.
“Godzilla: King of Monsters” is currently scheduled for a release date of March 22, 2019, with “Godzilla vs. Kong” following afterwards with a May 29, 2020 release date.
