Japanese Box Office: Yo-Kai 3, Heisei Generations Rank

Yo-Kai Watch tops box office with third movie, while Kamen Rider Heisei Generations: Dr. Packman vs Ex-Aid & Ghost with Legend Riders falls from its opening weekend spot.

Yo-kai Watch The Movie: The Flying Whale and the Grand Adventure of the Double Worlds, Meow!, the third in the Yo-Kai Watch movie series premiered over the weekend and topped the box office in Japan. The movie made $5.189 million in its opening weekend.

The movie is split into three unique segments, including a live action segment starring Ryoka Minamide, who played “the juicy kid” in various Kamen Rider gummi commercials starting with Kamen Rider Gaim.

Kamen Rider Heisei Generations: Dr. Packman vs Ex-Aid & Ghost with Legend Riders fell from 3rd to 7th in its second weekend. The team up movie sees the return of Kamen Riders Ghost, Drive, Gaim, and Wizard, to help Kamen Rider Ex-Aid as he deals with a threat from his past.

Elsewhere on the charts, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story premiered in 2nd and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them fell from 2nd to 3rd in its fourth weekend.
