Ultraman Manga Creators Releasing Getter Robo Manga
Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi’s next manga is the latest entry in the Getter Robo franchise.
The writer/artist pair known for their work on the Ultraman manga and Linebarrels of Iron, have a new title beginning this week with the first chapter of Getter Robo DEVOLUTION. Getter Robo is a multimedia franchise created by Ken Ishikawa and Go Nagai that tells the story of three mecha pilots whose vehicles combine into the titular robot to fight evil. One of the oldest mecha franchises, Getter Robo is known for featuring the first combining robot in anime and manga.
Getter Robo DEVOLUTION will run in Bessatsu Shonen Champion magazine starting on December 12th. Not much is known about the plot at this time, but it is safe to assume the title will feature the three-pilot, three-robot setup that Getter Robo is known for. This, along with Ultraman, is the pair’s second currently-ongoing title.
