009-1 Live-Action Movie to be Released on DVD in the U.S.

The live-action adaptation of the popular manga series 009-1 will have North American distribution come this Fall.

Originally a manga series created by Shotaro Ishinomori, the 2013 live-action movie, 009-1: The End of the Beginning, stars Mayuko Iwasa (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, Mei-chan no Shitsuji) as Mylene, a spy for the Western Block who infiltrates a bordering country to expose a human trafficking ring. The movie also features many tokusatsu actors such as Minehiro Kinomoto (Terui Ryu/Kamen Rider Accel), Nao Nagasawa (Nanami Nono/Hurricane Blue), Mao Ichimichi (Luka/GokaiYellow) and Minami Tsukui (Yoko Minato/Kamen Rider Marika) to name a few.

The film is directed by Koichi Sakamoto and, according to a listing on the independent video publisher Right Stuf’s website, the movie is set to be released on October 28, 2014.
