Masaya Kikawada Cast in Ultraman Decker

Tsuburaya Productions announced on May 19, 2022, that Masaya Kikawada has been cast for Ultraman Decker’s GUTS-Select team.

Masaya Kikawada is joining the cast of Ultraman Decker as Taiji Murahoshi, captain of the newly reformed GUTS-Select. Miyazawa has previously acted in Kamen Rider The First and Kamen Rider The Next as Takeshi Hongo.

Taiji Murahoshi, 38, is a former flying ace and calm captain of the GUTS-Select team. He takes off his glasses when angry, but never loses his smile. His wish is to protect the countless “precious things of the people” of Earth.

“Hello. I am Masaya Kikawada, chosen to play the role of the new GUTS-Select captain Taiji Murahoshi. This is my debut to the world of Ultraman, and playing a role as central as a captain is a joyous thought, but at the same time a sobering thought, too. In a word, my role is about “love”, Kikawada wrote. “It is precisely because the world is as chaotic as it is now that the cast, the crew, and I are all coming together to create something that will deliver hope and love to you all. Please join Captain Taiji Murahoshi in watching over the growth of his young crew. May we all discover our own precious things.”

Ultraman Decker premieres on July 9, 2022, at 9 a.m. JST on TV Tokyo. Tsuburaya plans to publish updates and information about Ultraman Decker every Thursday at 5 p.m. JST until the show airs.
