Ultraman Zero and Ultra Galaxy Collections Coming To Blu-Ray
Two new Blu-ray collections featuring Ultraman Zero are being released by Mill Creek Entertainment.
Mill Creek Entertainment has announced that two new Ultra Series collections are being released on Blu-ray discs this June. Ultra Galaxy: Mega Monster Battle will contain two television series totaling 26 episodes plus a theatrical film. Ultraman Zero Collection will include two specials and two movies.
Included in Ultra Galaxy: Mega Monster Battle is the original 13-episode series of the same name from 2007. In it, the human organization ZAP SPACY is traveling through space in search of resources. When the crew crashes on Planet Boris, they meet a man named Rei with a device that allows him to summon and control monsters called a Battlenizer. In the 2008 sequel series also included, Ultra Galaxy: Mega Monster Battle Never Ending Odyssey, a team called Pendragon are attacked by alien Pedans in hopes of destroying all of Rei’s people. When they land on Planet Hammer, they meet the first of those people, Alien Reiblood.
A 2009 movie titled Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy The Movie sees Ultraman Mebius seeking Rei’s help when Ultraman Belial escapes his imprisonment and uses the Giga Battlenizer to steal the Land of Light’s power source, the Plasma Spark. The two will need the help of legendary Ultras including the younger Ultraman Zero to defeat Belial.
Both Ultra Galaxy series along with Ultra Galaxy The Movie are included with the Ultra Galaxy: Mega Monster Battle collection across 5 discs. The collection will retail for $45.99 and can be pre-ordered from Mill Creek Entertainment’s website or Amazon.
The Ultraman Zero Collection includes four features.
2010’s Ultra Galaxy Legend Side Story: Ultraman Zero vs Darklops Zero is a two-part special in which Rei and Captain Hyuga from Ultra Galaxy: Mega Monster Battle are trapped in a pocket dimension where evil Ultra doppelgangers are being made. When Ultraman Zero comes to their rescue, he must fight his own copy: Darklops Zero. 2010 also saw the release of the feature film, Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial. When the Ultras discover Belial is alive and escaped to an alternate dimension, Ultraman Zero must go there and join forces with three other heroes to stop Belial. This is where Ultraman Zero meets Jean-Bot, Glenfire, and Mirror Knight, three warriors who would go on to form Ultimate Force Zero with him.
2011’s two-part special, Ultraman Zero Side Story: Killer the Beatstar is a follow-up to The Revenge of Belial in which Ultimate Force Zero must face Beatstar and his deadly robot, Jean-Killer before he can destroy all organic life. In the 2012 film, Ultraman Saga, Zero must team up with Ultraman Dyna, Ultraman Cosmos, and Team U to save children from Alien Bat and his Hyper Zetton monster. The members of Team U are played by idols from the Japanese Idol group, AKB48.
The previous four titles mentioned are all included in the Ultraman Zero Collection across 3 discs for $34.99. This collection is also available for pre-order through both Mill Creek’s website and Amazon.
The original Japanese soundtrack is available for each title along with English subtitles. Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy The Movie, Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial, and Ultraman Saga all come with brand new English dubs as can be previewed in the clips above.
