Kakuranger’s Satomi Hirose Appears In Zenkaiger Spin-Off

The leader of Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, Satomi Hirose, makes an appearance in Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger Spin-Off Zenkai Red Great Introduction.

Reprising her role for the first time since Super Sentai Strongest Battle, Satomi Hirose appears as Tsuruhime/Ninja White in the second part of the Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger spin-off.

Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger features a hero leading the team named Zenkaizer who wears white instead of red which differs from team leaders of the past. In Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger Spin-Off Zenkai Red Great Introduction, the Zenkaigers meet a hero who calls himself Zenkai Red (portrayed by Daiki Ise, singer of the opening for Ressha Sentai ToQger), and both heroes compete to be named the leader of the Zenkaigers.

Also featured are human forms of the four Kikainoid Zenkaigers: Juran, Gaon, Magine, and Vroon.

Fittingly, Ninja White being the leader of her team is a parallel with the white-clad Zenkaizer as the official leader of the 45th anniversary Super Sentai team. This spin-off is about whether or not a white Sentai member should be the leader instead of a red one which suggests Tsuruhime’s appearance is a reminder that leaders haven’t always been red.

Hirose gave the following statement regarding her guest appearance:

“I’ve been reunited with Director Kato after 26 years. Deep down, I wanted our reunion to be exciting since I’m wearing my uniform but I did not expect them to have no reaction.

The set was full of intensity going into the release. Thanks to everyone for giving me a warm welcome, I was able to relax. Every time I enter the film studio, I can feel the tension and relief of my alma mater, and I feel the need to straighten my collar. I hope everyone enjoys my Super Change from my days long gone.”

Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger Spin-Off Zenkai Red Great Introduction was released in two parts on TV Asahi’s streaming service, TELASA. As of March 28th, both parts have been uploaded.
