Ryoma Takeuchi to Star in Zombie Apocalypse TV Special

The former Kamen Rider Drive veteran will be struggling in a world of the living undead for his next project.

Recently a preview video of the serial drama The Day the World Ends With You has premiered, showing main character Hibiki Mamiya (portrayed by Ryoma Takeuchi) and Kurumi Ogasawara (portrayed by Ayami Nakajo) against a backdrop of scenes of carnage and humans running in fear from zombies. The story begins with Hibiki, an auto mechanic, trapped in a collapsed tunnel for four days, and when he escapes, he finds himself in a desolate wasteland populated by zombies while searching desperately for his high school sweetheart and live-in girlfriend Kurumi, The drama is billed as a “love survival story.”

Ryoma Takeuchi is known for his role as the main character of Kamen Rider Drive, Shinnosuke. The Day the World Ends With You is a joint production between TV Nihon and Hulu, and the first season of 10 episodes will premiere on terrestrial broadcast channels on January 17, with the second season to come next March on Hulu.
