Super Sentai Actors Show Support For Rio Komiya And Toei After COVID-19 Annoucement
Following the announcement of Mashin Sentai Kiramager‘s Rio Komiya contracting COVID-19, many actors from Super Sentai history are voicing their support on Twitter and Instagram.
In a March 31st press conference, Toei Productions confirmed that Rio Komiya (Juru Atsuta/Kiramared) tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, the studio being used for filming Mashin Sentai Kiramager has been closed for sanitizing. Additionally, anyone who has come in contact with Komiya is being told to stay home for fourteen days under medical observation. This news and the confirmation that filming on Kiramager has been suspended came from an official statement released by Toei. Now, veteran actors from throughout Super Sentai history are coming together on Twitter and Instagram to show their support for Komiya as he is riding out the disease.

COVID-19 is a disease caused by the highly contagious novel coronavirus. Symptoms can take up to fourteen days to show in victims, and the virus has taken more than 40,000 lives around the world. In an effort to stop the spread of the virus, many countries and cities around the world are closing down, telling citizens to stay home whenever possible. The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games have even been delayed to 2021 in order to stop the spread of the disease. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is now warning Japan to “be prepared for a long battle.” Experts suggest that washing your hands often with soap and hot water for at least twenty seconds, sanitizing surfaces, avoiding touching your face, and staying six feet apart from other people are simple ways to protect yourself during the pandemic.
