Tokusatsu Alumni Star In Tokyo Revengers Live Action Film
Two Kamen Rider actors and one Sentai actor will share the big screen in the ensemble cast of Tokyo Revengers.
After announcing last month that a live action film of Tokyo Revengers was in production, Warner Bros Japan has revealed the main cast for the project. The film is based on the manga by Ken Wakui, which has been in publication since 2017.
The story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, who is nearly at rock bottom in life when he finds out his past girlfriend has been killed by a gang. As he continues to spiral downward, he is suddenly thrust 12 years back in time to his middle school days. He races against the clock to save his girlfriend, fix his life, and track down the gang that killed her.
The cast is as follows:
- Takumi Kitamura as Takemichi Hanagaki
- Yuki Yamada as Ken Ryūgūji
- Yosuke Sugino as Naoto Tachibana
- Nobuyuki Suzuki as Masataka Shimizu
- Hayato Isomura as Atsushi Sendō
- Shotaro Mamiya as Tetta Kisaki
- Ryō Yoshizawa as Manjirō Sano
Three past tokusatsu stars make up part of the adaptation’s cast. Super Sentai alumni Yuki Yamada, previously known as GokaiBlue from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, plays Ken Ryuguji. Two Kamen Rider alumni, Hayato Isomura (Kamen Rider Necrom from Kamen Rider Ghost) and Ryō Yoshizawa (Kamen Rider Meteor from Kamen Rider Fourze) also star in the film as Atsushi Sendō and Manjirō Sano respectively.
The film will be directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa and will be released on October 9.
