Task Force Rad Squad Kickstarter Campaign Launches
Writer for Boom! Studios’ Power Rangers comic launches crowdfunding campaign for “heroes with RAD-ITUDE!!!”
Comic book writer Caleb Goellner and artist collaborator Buster Moody have launched a Kickstarter campaign to release a 200-page trade paperback of the six volumes of their tokusatsu inspired comic, Task Force Rad Squad. As of this article, the campaign has raised a fifth of the total with just over two weeks to go to reach the goal of $25,000. Originally written in 2013, the comic is inspired by the duo’s love of tokusatsu, Ninja Turtles, and Power Rangers, with its plot described as follows:
Earth’s teenage protectors have vanquished evil and are settling into sleep mode… until their new mentor inadvertently unleashes a fresh batch of foes, forcing them to engage evil once again as Task Force Rad Squad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pledges start at $10 with a reward of a PDF copy of the comic or $30 for a hardback edition. Higher tiers include rewards such as enamel pins, stickers, multiple copies of the comic to distribute as gifts, and original art of the comic. The duo are no strangers to the world of tokusatsu. Moody was an artist on IDW’s Godzilla in Hell whereas Goellner has written for Boom! Studios Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers comic. You can check out the Kickstarter campaign at the link below.
