Denkou Chojin Gridman Mook Book Announced
The Denkou Choujin Gridman mook book releases in September.
The 1993 tokusatsu series Denkou Choujin Gridman will get a companion mook, or media book, due out on September 26. The new book will include interviews from the cast and staff, as well as a look at the toys and overall designs of the monster suits, sets, production photos and more. The series follows tech savy student Naoto who merges with Gridman to fight the evil Kahn Digifer and his digitized monsters. In 1994, the series was imported to the U.S. and was used as the source footage for DiC Entertainment’s fairly faithful adaptation, Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad.
Last year saw the debut of the hit anime SSSS.GRIDMAN, which served as a continuation of Denkou Choujin Gridman and contained references to Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad. The series was a collaboration between Studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions and ran for 12 episodes. Funimation licensed and simulcast the series in both Japanese and with an English dub, both of which can be seen on their website. Denkou Choujin Gridman can be streamed on TOKU, and Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad is available on DVD now.
