Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.36 / Starting Station
From the archive of Bandai’s candy toy blog series for Kamen Rider Zi-O, with the reveal of Kamen Rider Quiz for SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: RIDE PLUS, a special update set, and the reveal of Kamen Rider Nega Den-O.
The man currently in charge of candy toy development goes by G, and in honor of Zi-O, he is now going by the name Gi-O.
The blog begins with the reveal of Kamen Rider Quiz, a part of SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: RIDE PLUS. From a design standpoint, Quiz’s design uses the Ride-Player suit from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid.
Although there are no specialized hands for Quiz in this wave, the hands are swappable. In order to give Quiz pointing hands, Gi-O makes use of the hands included with WArmor. The open hands included in this wave, which are made for Decade, can also be used here.
As an additional bit of fun, Gi-O proceeds to use Shinobi’s swords and G4’s Gigant with Quiz.
Remarking that they both have red and blue colors in common, Gi-O also displays Quiz with the weapons from GeizRevive.
In a surprise twist, the blog proceeds to announce a new set. In previous years, there were Dai SO-DO sets for Ex-Aid and Build – the Ex-Aid set featured Ex-Aid, Brave and Snipe with improved articulation, while the Build set featured Build and Cross-Z with swappable hands, both of which were changes that were adopted in their successor series.
For Zi-O, the set is known as Kai SO-DO – the kanji used for Dai SO-DO refers to the idea of big/greatness, whereas Kai SO-DO uses the kanji for changing/correcting. The set features Zi-O, Geiz and Woz, with the noticeable improvements being in the stickers used on the belt and RideWatch Holders on their arms.
Moving forward, the blog would reveal other notable inclusions for Kai SO-DO.
On the same day, Mr. D chimes in with SO-DO Kamen Rider Den-O news.
The Den-O figure line will now be including Kamen Rider Nega Den-O, the main villain of Kamen Rider Den-O & Kiva: Climax Deka.
Much like with the figure of Kamen Rider Cyclone, Nega Den-O will be auctioned at the Ichiban Kuji lottery, which would be happening on July 19th.
