Various Tokusatsu Actors to Star in Psycho-Pass Stage Play
Various tokusatsu actors have been revealed in a recent announcement.
On January 23rd, the official website for Psycho-Pass‘ stage play adaptation revealed the title, some cast, and a teaser visual. The play has been officially titled Butai Psycho-Pass Virtue and Vice. The play will run April 18th through 30th in Tokyo, and then will move to Osaka from May 4th through 6th.
The story will be brand new, as well as having all new characters, within Public Safety Bureau Criminal Investigation Department Division 3. The scriptwriter and chief director from the Psycho-Pass anime, Makoto Fukami and Katsuyuki Motohiro respectively, are coming back to fulfill their native roles.
The main character of the new plot will be Haruto Kusen, played by Hiroki Suzuki, who is pictured above. Hiroki Suzuki may sound familiar as GekiRed from Juken Sentai Gekiranger, but he is played by an older actor of the same name. This Hiroki Suzuki, born in 1985, has also been in a tokusatsu production, playing the Kamen Rider Decade version of Kamen Rider Blade. He appeared in the role in the TV show, as well as the movie Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider W & Kamen Rider Decade Movie Great War 2010. Also in the starring cast is Hideya Tawada, who will be portraying Yukiya Rangu. Tawada first showed up for tokusatsu fans as StarNinger in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, and has most recently shown up in Kamen Rider Zi-O as Kamen Rider Shinobi.
Two Ultraman alumni appear in the production: First, Ginnojo Yamazaki, known as Ushio Minato in Ultraman R/B, will be playing Hajime Mejiro. Secondly, Yuta Ozawa, known to Ultraman fans as Leito Igaguri in Ultraman Geed, will be portraying Kosei Aida.
The other currently revealed cast is as follows:
